Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Salamaua on 21 September 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This item contains two booklets, one entitled "Construction of offensive positions against a well-fortified enemy position", dated 5 December 1942, and another on road and airfield construction, dated 12 January 1943. These booklets also contain details on Japanese tactics, camouflage, reconnaissance, training and military government.
