Southern Cross is the account of the New Guinea campaigns written by the Chief of Staff of the 18th Army, Lieutenant General YOSHIHARA Kane. The translation was done by Doris Heath and is held by the Research Centre of the Australian War Memorial in Canberra (book collection F 940.541352 T882).
Note: This translation is offered as is, without major editing or corrections to the original translation. Further, many of the place names appearing in the text were given to local areas by the Japanese, and have either ceased to be used or changed to other names.
