| Content: | This item is a pictorial propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. The leaflet includes five pictures depicting the fall of Okinawa. On the back of the leaflet is a map of the Asia-Pacific region indicating the distance to Tokyo from the bases of the Allied Forces. The leaflet also has a list of the Japanese airfields captured by the Allied Forces between July 1944 and June 1945. The text on the back page urges the Japanese people in responsible positions to take actions which are in the interest of Japan and the Japanese people. 200,000 of them were printed. 3,500 of these leaflets were dispatched to Darwin on 26 July 1945, 60,000 to Morotai on 2 and 8 July 1945, and 90,000 to Lae on 28 July 1945 |
