Content: This item is a collection of personal records for non-commissioned officers from Unit 6412, from the 51st Division, containing 183 mimeographed forms. Each form records detailed information relating to an officer, including his home address, family background, education, former occupation, medical history, and hobbies & interests. Although the emphasis in the forms is primarily on the officers' "pre-recruitment status," some details of the officers' subsequent military records are also given, including place of recruitment, date(s) of promotion, special duties performed, and any rewards or punishments incurred since recruitment. Most of the dates for promotion fall within the year 1942, and all of the officers mentioned are originally from Shikoku. This item was captured at Hansa Bay, probably in 1944.
