Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. It reports the retreats of the Japanese from Guadalcanal and the Buna area and the loss of warships and aircraft in the battle of the Bismarck Sea. The inability of the Japanese military leaders is blamed for the defeat. The message ends by urging Japanese soldiers to surrender and to live for the future of Japan. 53,000 of them were printed.
