Content: | This item is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured north of Soputa on 27 November 1942 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. The item contains brief case histories of crimes committed during campaigns in the Philippines and extracts from a recently revised Japanese military penal code. This document was carried by Japanese forces presumably to help enforce discipline during the New Guinea campaigns. |
