Content: | This item is a leaflet calling on Japanese soldiers in Aitape to surrender to the Americans. Japanese soldiers are instructed to waive a copy of the leaflet to indicate their intention to surrender. On the back of the leaflet is a long printed message supposedly written by a Japanese soldier taken prisoners of war by the US forces. The unnamed Japanese prisoners of war argues that it is futile to continue fighting and urges his comrades to surrender. |
