| Content: | This item is a collection of personnel records for soldiers conscripted into military service between 1939 and 1941. Each document records the name, address and immediate family relations of the soldier in question, as well as details such as educational qualifications, occupation between leaving school and entering the military, rewards and/or punishment meted out to the soldier, serious illnesses or medical conditions suffered by close relatives, hobbies and interests, and details of any incident (for example, a death in the family) occurring after the soldier's conscription which might impact upon his performance. The soldiers were also asked to provide the name and contact details of a family member or acquaintance living in the Tokyo region. This item was captured at North Ibo in July 1944. |
