Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Namariwa on 14 January 1944 during the Huon Peninsula campaigns. This item is an instruction manual on a device used to detect gas and contaminated materials, including handling methods, maintenance and charts showing types and properties of gases. This document was most likely brought to New Guinea from a unit serving in China or the Philippines where chemical weapons were employed.
