Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Cape Dinga near Nassau Bay on 15 July 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This item is a printed booklet, published in October 1942 by the Moto Group, on delivering morale and spiritual training to officers and men. The document contains five lecturers entitled "On responsibility", "The army of the gods", "Loyalty and filial piety", "Sincerity" and "Fulfilment of duty and the Japanese spirit". This items provides a detailed and revealing insight into Japanese military codes of conduct and the ideology which drove the quest for territorial expansion. |
