Content: This item is a photocopy of a medical record covering the period between April 1943 and April 1944. It concerns the injury and subsequent hospitalisation of Superior Private WATANABE Kisaku, who belonged to the 239th Infantry Regiment Infantry Gun Detachment. The document describes how Pte Watanabe was initially wounded in battle in April 1943 while on duty in the Madang region. He was subsequently hospitalised at the 3rd Field Hospital in April 1944. The second half of the document records his treatment, as well as noting down personal details such as family connections and Pte Watanabe's previous military career. This item was captured at Hansa Bay in August 1944.
