Content: | This item consists of records of operations of the Imperial Japanese forces in the Sarmi and Biak areas during the Pacific War. These records were compiled in August 1945 by the Historical Research Section of the Demobilisation Ministry at the request of the Japanese government and the occupation forces. Although they were written soon after the events they describe, they were often reliant on recollections and interviews with veterans rather than primary military documentation. |
