| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Maffin on 28 May 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item is an extract from a manual entitled "Transcript of lectures on landing operations" (volume 2), published by the Army Transport Section, circa March 1944. It contains instructions on the influence of atmospheric conditions on gas and smoke, anti-gas protection and methods of using gas during landing operations. |
