Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Mt Tambu area on 15 August 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This item is a training manual published in November 1941 on the duties and functions of a field artillery battalion. It contains instructions on reconnaissance, deployment, gun positions, combat tactics, transport, change of position, replenishing ammunition, camouflage, communication and retreat. |
