Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of Japanese publications captured at Noemfoor Island on 6 July 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item is a pamphlet entitled "References on anti-aircraft firing with regimental gun", issued in 1944 by Hayashi Unit Infantry School. It contains information on the construction of sighting equipment for a regimental (Type 41) mountain gun when used as an anti-aircraft weapon, the preparation of ammunition, preparation of firing positions, firing techniques and sketches of gun platforms, battery dispositions and gun positions.
