Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. An English translation of the text is attached. The message was issued by Lieutenant General Sturdee in order to inform the commanding officers of Japanese forces in Nauru and Ocean Islands regarding their surrender procedure. It states that the Australian force will arrive in Nauru on 8 September and on Ocean Island two weeks later to accept the Japanese surrender. |
