Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. An English translation of the text is attached. It is dated on 14 January 1945. The leaflet reports the progress of the Allied attack on Luzon, the sinking of 25 Japanese ships off Indo-china, the advance of the Allied Forces on Mandalay and the bombing of Singapore. It also covers a new offensive by the Russian forces in south Poland and the situation at the Western Front. 120,000 of them were printed. 30,000 of these leaflets were dispatched to Morotai on 24 January 1945, 20,000 to Torokina on 25 January 1945, 40,560 to Darwin on 25 January 1945, 18,000 to Hollandia on 27 January 1945, and 16,000 to Tadji (near Aitape) on 27 January 1945. |
