Content: This item is an official diary for the month of February 1943, recording the activities of the 39th Independent Motor Car Battalion while stationed in Jakarta. It contains a full list of the company, and reports and orders regarding the unit's preparation for a major transport operation from Jakarta aboard the transport ship 'Gyokubô Maru.' There are several diagrams of the ship, with instructions on loading of vehicles and personnel, as well as orders and reports concerning daily activities and duties such as mechanical tuition, vehicle maintenance, and the hospitalisation of sick and injured soldiers. It was captured at Hansa Bay in July 1944
