Content: This item is a letter from Second Lieutenant KITANI to SAKAMOTO Sueo, which was written in reply to a postcard from SAKAMOTO. It appears that KITANI was a military surgeon who attended SAKAMOTO's son, Tsutomu, prior to his death in a field hospital. The letter mainly discusses KITANI's memories of Tsutomu. KITANI expresses surprise about the coincidence that Tsutomu's friend called on him unexpectedly on the day the post-card from SAKAMOTO arrived.
