Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. The leaflet advises the Japanese forces that the Japanese Government made a difficult but wise decision to surrender. The message refers to the Japanese POWs who surrendered during the war years, and emphasises that they have been treated well in accordance with international law on POWs. An English translation of the text is attached. The plates were finsiehd on 14 August 1945 and sent to Morotai, Lae and Darwin on 15 August 1945.
