Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. Major events included in the coverage are the Honan operations and the situation in the war in China, the air raids on Tokyo and its vicinity and its impact on the war industry, the black markets and illegal dealings in Japan, the fierce bombing of Surabaya on 17 May 1944, the consecutive defeats of the Japanese forces in New Guinea and the surrender of Japanese servicemen and the situation in the North and Central Pacific. It also reports the war in Burma and the situation in Europe. 100,000 of them were printed. |
