Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. An English translation of the text is attached. The message reports that the Tôjô Cabinet resigned on 18 July and Kido was appointed as new Prime Minister. The resignation of Tôjô was triggered by the Japanese defeat in Saipan. As the Japanese regime is preparing for the possible attack on its homeland, it could not provide any assistance towards isolated forces in New Guinea. It urges the soldiers to surrender instead of fighting a useless war. |
