Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private YAMADA Chiyokasu of the 170th Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion 1st Machine Gun Company 1st Platoon, who was captured in Giruwa on 15 January 1943. YAMADA, a 26 year old Superior Private from HyƓgo, was captured by American troops at the Giruwa Hospital where he was recovering from injury. During the interrogation, YAMADA provided information on unit organisation, equipment and weapons, identification tags, morale in Japan, matters related to chemical warfare, medical treatment at Giruwa Hospital and attacks by the Allies.
