Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private KAWAKUBO Yasuichi of the Provisional Transport Unit 2nd Company 2nd Platoon, who was captured in Giruwa on 21 January 1943. KAWAKUBO, a 26 year old 1st Class Private from Sasebo, was ill when he was captured. During the interrogation, KAWAKUBO provided information on unit movements and organisation. His unit was formed at Davao from 20 to 30 men from KAWAKUBO's company and possibly the same number from the other two companies of the 20th Independent Mountain Artillery Battalion and the Yazawa Unit. He also discussed artillery operations in China before his arrival in New Guinea. |
