| Content: | This item is a postal savings book issued to NEGISHI Keiichi. The front cover contains columns for account number, the agency responsible for the original register, remarks, address and name. The back cover shows a list of instructions. The savings book was issued by the Postal Savings Department but the original register was transferred to the Dairen [Dalian] branch. The unit names written in the address space indicates NEGISHI belonged to the 2nd Machine Gun Unit of the 15th Infantry Regiment and later he was transferred to the Negishi Unit of the 38th Eastern Unit. The rest of the savings book consists of columns for transaction records. The transactions started some time earlier than 25 May 1940 and ended on 24 Feburary 1941. This item was captured at Lae on 1 July 1944. |
