Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Sergeant M163 of the 102nd Infantry Regiment 2nd Battalion 7th Company 1st Platoon, who was captured in Lae on 15 September 1943. M163, a 26 year old Sergeant from Chiba, was unconscious after knocking his head on an oil drum when he tried to flee from the Australians. He was captured by Australian troops. During the interrogation, M163 provided information on unit organisation and movements, particularly during the campaigns in Lae and Salamaua. He was a machine-gunner. |
