| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 2nd Class Private M214 of the 115th Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion 1st Company 1st Platoon, who was captured in Lae on 15 September 1943. M214, a 22 year old 2nd Class Private from Gunma, was abandoned by his unit and swimming across a river when he was captured by Australian troops. He was a rifleman in his unit. During the interrogation, M214 provided information on his movements from New Britain to Lae via Tuluvu and Nigol and then from Lae to Salamaua and back. He also talked extensively about the social conditions in Japan. |
