Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Lae on 26 September 1943 shortly after the fall of Lae and the Japanese retreat across the Finisterre Ranges. This item contains routine orders, including duty rosters, ceremonies, relations with natives, decorations and sanitary advice, for No.1 Maintenance Company 22nd Airfield Battalion between March and August 1943. It also contains brief comments about Allied plans to attack Lae and Salamaua. |
