| Content: | These items consist of six pocketbooks carried by Japanese soldiers. They contain extensive exhortations and instructions including the "Military rescript (1882)", the "Field services code (1941)" and "Preparations for mobilisation". They also include sections for details of service, such as name, address, unit, height, clothing sizes, academic record, awards and punishments, injuries and sicknesses and troop movements. A Japanese soldier was expected to keep this book maintained and up to date. |
