Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private JA145636 of the 115th Infantry Regiment 3rd Battalion 12th Company Headquarters Section, who was captured in Bainduang on the way to Sio from Lae on 21 October 1943. JA145636, a 22 year old Superior Private from Gunma, was suffering from piles and malaria and could not keep up with his unit when he was captured by Australian troops. He was a rifleman in his unit. During the interrogation, JA145636 provided information on his unit organisation, his movements, convoys in which he had travelled, and morale in Japan.
