Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Mt Tambu-Salus Lake area during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. The item contains the daily administrative orders and conference reports for the Sugiyama Unit 66th Infantry Regiment 51st Division between 1 January and 10 August 1943. In addition to the administrative matters, this item contains information on health issues, morale, camouflage, equipment, dress regulations, language, a report on the march by the 115th Infantry Regiment from Finschhaffen to Lae in May 1943. This item also mentions the introduction of the Type 3 "Tony" fighter aircraft.
