Content: This item consists of an instruction manual for drawing military sketch maps. Edited by SAITÔ Ippei, it was originally published by Shôheikan of Tokyo in 1932. This copy is the 92nd revised edition printed in 1942 and contains a copy of the official army abbreviations and symbols as approved by the Minister of War,TÔJÔ Hideki in July 1940. The manual covers such matters as the preparation for sketching maps, annotation of military symbols and how to sketch different campaigns and situations. It also contains 29 fold out example sketches of mock battles staged in various locations in Japan.
