| Content: | This item is a map, probably from 1942, with hand-drawn elevation diagrams of several areas in the Finschhafen, Lae, and Salamaua districts, showing the lie of the land as it would be viewed from the sea. It was probably used as a location aid for troops landing in the Finschhafen area, and could have belonged to the 238th Infantry Regiment, although no unit names are mentioned. It was captured at Madang, probably in 1944. |
