| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of Japanese publications captured at Hollandia between 30 April and 11 May 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item is a collection of notes on the Type 99 H1 Mks 1 to 4 and Ground Mk 3 wireless sets, taken from a notebook belonging to AKIYAMA Tetsu (unit unknown). It also contains notes, diagrams and specifications on the Mk 4 set, used exclusively for communication with heavy bombers. This item also includes a booklet entitled "H1 Mk 4 wireless set manual", dated November 1942 and issued by Manchukuo 787 Force (208th Flying Regiment). |
