Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA145717 of the 238th Infantry Regiment Combat Train Unit, who was captured in Melanpipi, twenty miles from Lae, on 15 November 1944. He was suffering from malnutrition, malaria, beriberi and pleurisy and captured by Australian New Guinea Administrative Unit (ANGAU) members. JA145717's personal details were not included in the report. During the interrogation, JA145717 provided information on effectiveness of Allied attack and Nakajima Aircraft Factory. |
