Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA145729 of the 79th Infantry Regiment, who was captured in Melanpipi, about 20 miles from Lae on 27 February 1944. JA145729, a 22 year old 1st Class Private from Nagano, was captured with six other Japanese soldiers by local people and brought to Australian troops. During the interrogation, JA145729 provided information on unit organisation, movement, and conditions in Japan. Three sketch maps of industrial areas in Seishin and Rashin in North Korea are included. |
