Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Hollandia on 29 May 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item contains the operational orders of 4th Air Army, issued at Wewak by 4th Air Army Commanding Officer TERAMOTO Kumaichi, dated 2 January to 22 March 1944. It contains operational orders concerning the transfer and assignment of units, combat training, transportation operations, order of battle, tactical training, the attack on Allied landing operations in the Admiralty Islands in March 1944, and chemical warfare preparations. |
