| Content: | This item is a copy of a document produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office after the surrender of Japan. It contains instructions concerning the surrender of the Japanese forces in the Balikpapan - Samarinda area. The senders are the General Officer Commanding the Australian 7th Division and the Commander Allied Forces Dutch Borneo. The document was addressed to Rear Admiral KAMATA or his representative. Copies of the document were probably air-dropped in the area. The Japanese troops in the area were instructed to use a radio telephone to make contact with the Australian forces. |
