Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. The leaflet includes two stories about the Japanese people and their culture. One story describes the history and the meaning of Boys' Day and the other discusses how precious a child is for parents. The story about the importance of children also mentions that the war has reached the Japanese mainland and no one is looking after children because mothers have been conscripted as labourers and schools have been closed. The message encourages the recipient to protect his child, who is not only his treasure but also part of the strength of the post-war Japan. |
