Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA145703 of the 80th Infantry Regiment Gun Company, who was captured in Yupnar on 10 February 1944. It was not possible to identify the location of Yupnar, but it is most likely to be found near Nambariwa where this soldier was in December 1943. The report is a short one and does not have personal details of the prisoner. JA145703 was ill with malaria and asleep when he was captured by Papuan Infantry Battalion (PIB) patrol. During the interrogation, JA145703 provided information on use of fishing boats for military purposes by Japanese, air attacks by Allied planes in Hansa Bay and the Nambariwa area.
