Content: | This item is a copy of a handout from a Squad Leader of the 8th Area Army which addresses some of the issues former servicemen were particularly concerned about. Matters discussed include policy for the post-war rehabilitation of Japan, the significance of Japan's recovery, national defence in the future and schedule for repatriation. It also mentions employment for returned servicemen, food shortage and agricultural production in Japan, and the future of technology and Japanese industries. The author dismisses the idea of settling old scores by force, and argues that real rehabilitation of the nation will come from Japan's contribution to all aspects of human culture by promoting science and technology. |
