Australian War Memorial - About the AJRP

House style is a set of preferences for written language within an organisation. It covers such things as punctuation, spelling, use of capitals, preferred terms, use of titles and many other aspects of text. The Australian War Memorial house style has been developed in order to impose a consistency of expression in the range of text created for the public.

The AJRP has endeavoured to conform to the recomendations set out in the Australian War Memorial style guide. An exception to this is the preference for italics over quotation marks for quotations and block extracts of prose or poetry. This is a purely aesthetic consideration for the internet.
