Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Mount Tambu-Komiatum area on 15 August 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This item contains a variety of articles, including a critical assessment of US combat methods as employed on Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands and how these affected Japanese combat tactics, a report on living and fighting in the jungle, a selection of regulations governing the 18th Army and a report on "improving morale and strengthening combat power". This item also contains a chart detailing the supply drops made by Allied forces during late June 1943. |
