| 内容の概要 | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Cadet ARAI Ichitarô of the 50th Anti-Aircraft Battalion 3rd Company Commanding Section, who was captured near Trobriand Island on 21 March 1943. ARAI, a 23 year old Cadet from Saitama, was captured by Australian troops while he and his companions were on a small boat after the sinking of Oigawa Maru. During the interrogation, ARAI initially gave a false name as ARAKI, but provided information on his unit organisation, movements of his battalion, list of Japanese soldiers who were captured with him, and social conditions in Japan. |
