Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. An English translation of the text is attached. This leaflet was written by the General Officer Commanding the 6th Australian Division in order to urge Japanese troops to surrender. It states 5 officers and 37 soldiers surrendered at the village of Womgrer, near Maprik, and were sent to Australia to be looked after. Thus, the message states that others should follow their suit and surrender. |
