Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA145735 of the 79th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Company, who was captured at Tapen on 9 March 1944. JA145735, a 1st Class Private, was captured by natives and turned over to Australian troops. During the interrogation, JA145735 provided information on various Japanese naval vessels including Mayasan Maru and Yamato Maru, an exchange of Japanese and Russian prisoners of war, low morale due to lack of air support and Japanese facilities at Palau. |
