Content: This item is a collection of slips recording telegraphed messages between an Imperial Army headquarters in Madang, and the communications office of the 39th Independent Motor Car Battalion in Erima. The messages relay information and orders, mostly concerning the movement and repair of broken-down vehicles belonging to the battalion. There are also requests for information on the number and status of vehicles in order to compile a "status of armaments" report for Madang headquarters. This item was captured at Hansa Bay in August 1944.
