Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 3rd Class Seaman YOKOTA Shigeki of the 5th Sasebo Special Naval Landing Party, who was captured on Goodenough Island on 7 July 1943. YOKOTA, a 23 year old 3rd Class Seaman from Kôchi, was captured by local people. He lived with local people from October 1942 until capture, as he and his companions hid in the jungle after the Allied landing in Mud Bay. His companions died of malaria in November 1942. During the interrogation, YOKOTA provided information on his unit organisation, unit movement, ships and aeroplanes, training of Special Naval Landing Party and morale. Sketches of gun armaments on Kaga Maru, maps of Truk Atoll and Palau are attached.
