| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for a Chinese civilian JA145597, who was captured in Lae on 20 September 1943. JA145597, a 22 year old civilian from Rabaul, was accused of collaborating with the Japanese as an interpreter. He was brought up in Rabaul and moved to Lae. During the interrogation, JA145597 provided information on Japanese activities in relation to local people, Japanese interpreters, and Japanese attitudes towards local people. A list of names of those who were in contact with him prior to October 1941 is attached. |
