| Content: | This item is a military postal savings book issued to KATÔ Moriharu from the 237th Infantry Regiment of the 41st Division. The front cover contains columns for account number, the agency responsible for the original register, remarks, address and name. The back cover shows a list of instructions. The savings book was issued by the Shimonoseki branch of the Postal Savings Department. The unit name written in the address space indicates KATÔ belonged to the Koishi Unit of the 237th Infantry Regiment. The rest of the savings book consists of columns for transaction records. The transactions occurred between 2 October and 18 December 1943. This item was captured at Afua on 10 August 1944. |
